paul-ozz-staffDoomspell Sound is a home studio based in Vancouver, B.C.

Founded by Paul Ozz in 2016, Doomspell Sound has been created with the intention of helping musicians achieve their sonic dreams.

Working primarily in the metal genre, I currently specialize in mixing, mastering, MIDI and session work. I am working towards bringing in even more services in the future to provide more value to my clients.

Mixing and Mastering:

I charge $100USD per song for a mix, this includes 3 revisions.

At $150USD per song, I will mix and master your song, this too includes 3 revisions. This option is best for people who want to put out a demo of one or two tracks.

Finally, for just mastering I charge $50USD a song.

When it comes to E.P’s, the length of the project will determine cost so the price will vary. Please contact me for a quote regarding mixing / mastering.

Just like E.P’s, depending on the length of the album the cost will vary. There is a $500USD deposit to be paid up-front, as well as an expected understanding that an album will take longer than an E.P to mix / master, however a previously agreed time expectation will be put in place.

MIDI Drums:

Can’t afford to pay for studio time and an engineer to track and record your drummer? MIDI drums is always a great option. I use Superior Drummer 2.0 (including Metal Foundry) by ToonTrack to write and create drum sounds.

MIDI Drums Per Song Cost: This will vary upon the difficulty of the song and what is being asked for, and as such can vary from $100USD+ including 2 revisions per track.

Would you like to hire me for a project?

Considering the vast amount of effort it takes a band to hire out a session musician and to record them in a studio, hiring me is quite simple as I work from home. Using the Fractal Audio Axe-FX II, a plethora of tones can be conjured for your project. You can have DI takes, Axe-FX II dry and effected tracks, and even vocal work. Please contact me directly for a quote.

Ok! Let’s do this! Now what?

At the beginning of the process, you send me all of your (preferably .wav) files of your tracks that you have recorded as well as any MIDI and tempo information regarding the song so that it’s a concise job.

Communication must be clear and open, so that there are no misunderstandings whatsoever. On my end I try to keep myself within reach as much as I can when it comes to client needs.

Finally, do understand that in order for me to deliver my best possible mix or master, your recordings themselves need to be recorded well too! Take extra care and time if you aren’t satisfied with your recordings before you book any studio.
